Dark circles under the eyes can be bothersome, but simple habits can make a big difference.
Follow these tips:
1. Hydrate:
💧 Drink over 2 litres of water and moisturize the delicate skin below the eyes.
2. Protect:
☀️ UV protection using sunscreen is non-negotiable, and always wear 🕶️ sunglasses in the sun!
3. Nourish:
🥦 Vitamin deficiencies can lead to skin darkening. Anemia causes darkening of the area around your eyes.
4. Stop rubbing your eyes! 🚫
Friction worsens inflammation and pigmentation. Small blood vessels may break, leading to more darkening.
5. Rest Sleep well! 😴
Blood and fluid build-up around the eyes due to less sleep lead to 🐼 Panda eyes. Sleep is important for a healthy body!
That said, dark circles are often due to hormonal changes, inflammation, genetics, or the sunken structure of the bones around the eye increasing shadows.
Consult a dermatologist who may recommend peels, active retinol, or even lasers. But many times, these don’t work either. 🩹
*Under-eye Tear Trough Hyaluronic acid fillers by a qualified injector (Me!) work really well.
**Intense Pulse Light therapy now available at our center also works well to treat inflammation and reduce dryness of the eyes! 🌈
