Myopic retinal detachments, and weak areas due to high spectacle number.
Retinal degenerations posterior segment trauma.

All myopes/ high spectacle number patients are also recommended a yearly retinal screening to rule out any areas of weakness caused due to the stretching or pulling of the retina in long/myopic eyes.
Management of any active weak spots, if required, can be done by barrage laser as a preventive measure.
